Women’s Creative Flow Day Retreat

This event will be held in the Phoenix Barn Yoga Studio, however weather permitting, we have lots of green outdoor space to use also.

The day will start with an opening circle, followed by a belly dance workshop led by Jenny, which will take you on a journey through your body from head to toe, using flowing movements inspired by Middle Eastern dance to awaken your body and invite flow into your life. Often practiced by women in the home, this low impact dance helps to strengthen muscles and release tension, relaxing the mind as well as the body. Through spirals, undulations, infinity loops and shimmies, we will reconnect with ourselves and set our intentions for the day.

We will take the shapes and intentions from the dance and set them into solid forms in the copper wire jewellery workshop. Using basic hand tools and simple techniques, we will bend, manipulate and hammer the copper wire into a keepsake that can be worn as jewellery or hung as a decoration.

A delicious and nutritious gluten free, vegan lunch as well as drinks and snacks will be provided.

Yin yoga with Jessica in the afternoon is truly a treat. If you haven’t experienced this type of yoga before, it’s important to know it is a cooling yoga so wearing warm comfortable clothes is important. Yin yoga works on releasing the fascia within the body which holds the majority of our tension. Bolsters, blankets and blocks are used to support postures comfortably which are then held for 5 minutes for deep relaxation.

Yoga Nidra with Anna flows from the Yin Yoga after the break. Nidra means sleep and as you are guided in to a deep meditative state, the mind is able to drop away from overthinking and you may just fall asleep if you are in serious need of it.

We will finish with a closing circle.

This day retreat is exclusively for 6 women only.
All activities are suitable for beginners.

11.00-1.00 Copper Wire Jewellery Making.

All materials are provided.

1.00-2.00 Lunch

We will eat together outside if the weathers nice. A gluten free, Vegan nutritious lunch will be provided. Please get in touch with dietary requirements.

2.00-3.30 Yin Yoga

Jessica will lead a deeply relaxing Yin Yoga class bringing in other elements of her body and therapy work.

3.30-3.45 Tea Break

3.45-4.45 Yoga Nidra

Anna loves practising Yoga Nidra herself and has found it incredibly healing enabling her to know what is needed.

4.45-5.15 Grounding and Waking to go home.

After this day of flow and relaxation, its important to fully wake and ground yourselves in order to allow the space you have created to settle.
